Does your pet have bad habits?

Does your dog... jump up, pull on the lead, chew, bark, run away, chase, dig, guard it's food or soil in the house?

Is your dog... boisterous, difficult to control, aggressive to people or other dogs. Does he growl, snarl, snap or bite?

Is your dog... fearful of people, places, objects, noises or being left alone? Do you have problems with your dog whilst travelling in the car?

Does your cat... urine mark/spray around the home and garden?

Does your cat... use your furniture as a scratching post, eat your houseplants or deposit faeces in the middle of your bed?

Is your cat... aggressive, nervous, territorial or confrontational with other cats?

Does your cat... wake you up in the middle of the night?

Do not despair! - Help is available.

The first step to a well behaved pet is to fully understand it's behaviour. Behaviour therapy involves looking at all aspects of the pet's problems and the pet-human relationship.
Although there are never any miracle cures, with hard work, love and consistency, even the most difficult and frustrating problems can be dramatically improved/solved using Behaviour Therapy. The result? A well-trained, happy pet that is a pleasure to own and an owner who has a better understanding of the problems - knowing that there is always support and help available.

TOP TIPS - RECALLS

Coming when called! You must have the ability to recall your dog no matter what the situation or what other distractions are around. The best way to achieve this is to ensure that returns to you are rewarding and highly pleasurable experiences. It is essential that you NEVER punish your dog for returning to you no matter how long they take, what they were doing before (or how angry it made you). Have a happy high-pitched voice, clap your hands and make yourself as interesting as possible. When your dog returns to you, give lots of praise, a treat, a toy, a cuddle or tummy rub to reinforce the fact that you are really pleased that they have returned to you.

A new puppy in the household is exciting and fun but can also be hard work!
A puppy consultation is designed to help you get things right first time around (which is a lot easier than trying to sort out problems later on) and results in a friendly, well-behaved and happy adult dog.
